Apple TV is exciting fans by moving up the release date for its popular sci-fi series this week. Unlike some streaming services that release entire seasons at once, Apple TV has found success with weekly episodes, building anticipation with each new installment. Shows like Ted Lasso, Silo, and Severance have become hits thanks to this approach, keeping viewers engaged and eager for more. Following a cliffhanger ending to the last episode of Plurbus, Apple TV is giving fans an early treat with the next episode’s release.
Apple TV+’s new series, Pluricus, created by Vince Gilligan (known for Better Call Saul), usually releases episodes on Fridays. The first two episodes premiered on November 7th, with subsequent episodes arriving on November 14th and 21st. Apple TV surprised fans with an announcement on social media that the fifth episode would be available two days ahead of schedule, on Wednesday, November 26th. The announcement was playfully addressed to a fan named Carol, stating they’d be seeing her ‘a little bit earlier than normal’ and expressing excitement for the Wednesday release.

Things should return to normal next week, with new episodes of Pluribus released every Friday on Apple TV leading up to the final episode on December 26th.
Pluribus Has Strong Competition On November 26

The new episode of Pluribus is being released early for a good reason. With Thanksgiving on Thursday and Black Friday shopping on Friday, most families will be busy. Releasing the episode on Wednesday gives people a chance to watch it before the holiday rush. Plus, the last episode ended on a cliffhanger, so fans won’t have to wait as long to find out what happens next. The trade-off is a slightly longer wait – 9 days – for the following episode, which will be available on December 5th.
However, this could negatively impact how many people watch Pluribus this week. The show is launching at a tough time, as the first four episodes of Stranger Things‘ final season become available on Wednesday. Because each episode is nearly a full-length movie, fans could easily spend around eight hours watching Stranger Things over the Thanksgiving weekend, starting Wednesday. Even if Pluribus had premiered on Friday, it would have faced similar challenges. The remaining three episodes of Stranger Things will be released on December 25th, with the final episodes airing on December 31st.
Pluribus is a story about Carol, a writer who is unique – she’s one of only thirteen people on Earth unaffected by an alien virus. This virus has linked all other humans into a single, peaceful, and happy collective consciousness. Rhea Seehorn plays Carol, and Karolina Wydra plays Zosia, her companion and one of the few others unaffected. The show has received overwhelmingly positive reviews, earning a 99% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and its tagline is: “The most miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness.”
The latest episode of Pluribus left viewers on the edge of their seats! Carol used a truth serum on Zosia, hoping to find out if the “Joining” – a process that changed humanity – could be undone. But Zosia had a heart attack, and others from the Hive Mind rushed to help. Season 1 of Pluribus will have nine episodes total, with the last one airing on December 26th. However, it will be up against the new season of Stranger Things, which premieres the day before.
