RHOA’s Kandi Burruss Shares How Todd Tucker Divorce Has Been “Brewing”

Kandi Burruss is getting real about her recent split.

Following her announcement on November 21st that she and Todd Tucker are separating after 11 years of marriage, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star has revealed the split wasn’t sudden, but rather something they’d been dealing with for a while.

As she put it in a Nov. 24 Amazon Live, “This is something that has been brewing for a while.”

She explained that she’s been putting on a happy face, but hasn’t been truly happy inside lately.

The songwriter, who has won a Grammy, explained that just because people have seen her active online doesn’t mean she’s doing well. She admitted she’s been having a really tough time lately, saying life has been throwing challenges her way.

Although being married was difficult, the former Xscape singer is grateful her children, 9-year-old Ace and 6-year-old Blaze, are thriving. She says she has no regrets about the marriage because of them.

I wasn’t surprised at all when they announced their split earlier this month – she made it very clear that their children are their top priority, and that’s what she emphasized when they shared the news. It’s good to see them putting the kids first.

Kandi announced on November 21st that she has decided to divorce, saying it wasn’t an easy decision and came after a lot of consideration. She stated that her priority right now is maintaining her well-being, being a good mother, and working with her soon-to-be ex-partner to raise their children with kindness and respect.
