Kate Beckinsale surprised people when she revealed her daughter Lily Mo Sheen’s boyfriend is expecting – not a baby, but two eggs! It seems he’s a rooster, and they’re preparing for chicks.

Now, before you fly the coop, allow the Pearl Harbor star to explain.

Kate shared with Jimmy Kimmel that her family is very close-knit. She explained that the past couple of years have been difficult, as both of her parents passed away. She said the only good thing that happened during that time was when her bird laid two eggs in a single week.

The announcement understandably caused confusion. Jimmy was clearly hesitant and cautiously asked what it meant.

Kate explained that the man had said, ‘I’ve laid an egg,’ meaning it had exited his body in the same way an egg comes from a hen.

The 52-year-old, who shares a 26-year-old daughter with her ex, Michael Sheen, explained that her boyfriend was initially very nervous when attempting the challenge. He accidentally squeezed the egg too hard, revealing it was already fully cooked with a solid yolk inside a complete shell.

At first, I figured the story was exaggerated,” Kate said. “It just seemed unbelievable, and I was dealing with a lot of family issues at the time, so I just dismissed it and moved on.

Then, just a week later, Kate said another egg supposedly hatched.

Lily was flying when her boyfriend tried to send her some pictures, but they wouldn’t load because of the plane’s connection. Instead, they went to Kate.

After Jimmy saw the photos, he was shocked and said, “That’s incredible! Your daughter’s boyfriend is definitely the Easter Bunny – it just makes sense!”

Actually, Kate explained that the ideas doctors had – like the boyfriend possibly eating a lot of lychees or taking something to help him sleep that caused him to eat while unconscious – turned out to be incorrect as well.

Unlike the classic riddle about the chicken, Kate is genuinely curious about this puzzle and is asking Jimmy’s audience to share their ideas about what happened.

In the meantime, “It’s my favorite thing he’s ever done,” she said. “I really like him.”

During an April 2025 interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the singer of “Save Me” shared a particularly embarrassing story, and he didn’t hesitate to reveal all the details.

“I pooped myself one time,” he admitted. “I did, I’m sorry.”

To be honest, Jelly Roll (whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord) didn’t intend to cause such serious harm.
