Footage of the upcoming Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has leaked online. The leak shows about 10 minutes of early gameplay and a first look at the game’s new combat system.
Additionally, the information suggests Farah will have a different role in the new version of the game, and players won’t need to defend her in combat anymore.
If you’re familiar with the first game, you probably remember how frustrating it could be to protect Farah on missions. That’s because if she died, you’d automatically fail.
However, that no longer seems to be the case, as the leak suggests.

According to recent leaks, Farah will be back in the remake, playing the same part as she did in the first game. However, she won’t be a character you can control. Interestingly, it looks like you won’t need to protect her during fights this time around.
A video showing the leak appeared on YouTube, but Ubisoft quickly had it removed with a copyright claim. Luckily, The Game Post was able to report on the video before it was taken down.
We’ve completely updated the combat, including new enemy strategies and more challenging boss battles. Now, Farah is a fully capable fighter who can battle alongside you, using her bow and performing team attacks. You won’t need to worry about protecting her anymore.
The new Prince of Persia game has faced many changes during its creation.

Originally announced in 2020, the game has faced multiple delays and changes in development studios. It spent over two years being created at Ubisoft Pune and Mumbai. Following feedback from fans on its first reveal, development shifted to Ubisoft Montreal.
Now, the remake is set to release in early 2026.
However, it’s important to remember that the leaked presentation might not show how the game is now. It could be from a much older version, possibly months or even years out of date.
As usual, until we get an official confirmation, take everything with a grain of salt.
