How to start the Beyond the Walls quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Your first goal is to head north of Hanazono Castle, located in the Yamashiro area. I’ve highlighted it on the screenshot below so you know exactly where to go.
Okay, so when I got to the spot, there was a soldier lying there, wearing clothes that seriously looked like they came straight out of Attack on Titan. I grabbed the letter next to him, and as soon as I read it, the ‘Beyond the Walls’ quest popped up! That’s how it starts, apparently.
The ‘Beyond the Walls’ quest was different from others – it didn’t show up on my list of objectives in the game. I could only start it by going to the right place and finding a letter.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Beyond the Walls quest walkthrough
The complete quest can be broken down into the following parts.
- Investigate the castle ruins
- Help the captive
Investigate the castle ruins
Head south on the map to reach Hanazono Castle. Once there, listen for enemies talking about the person they’ve captured. Your goal is to rescue Ada, who is being held captive.
Help the captive
After you enter the castle, defeat all the enemies inside. This will show you where Ada is being held. Once you find her, help her complete the rescue. After she’s safe, Ada will share a plan to save Gautwin. Before choosing “I’m ready to follow Ada,” be sure to review the options displayed on the screen.
This automatically completes the Beyond the Walls quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
