After the movie Chainsaw Man The Movie: The Reze Arc did so well, everyone’s been asking if we’ll get a second season of the anime, or if Denji’s story will continue only through films. We still don’t have a definite answer on that front, but the manga is still delivering amazing stories. Right now, the battle between the War Devil and the Chainsaw Devil is really heating up, and Asa Mitaka is going all out. It’s actually pretty funny – her latest attack is surprisingly similar to a move used by the former top hero from My Hero Academia.
Be warned! This discussion contains spoilers for Chainsaw Man chapter 221. In the previous chapter, the War Devil shockingly turned the entire state of Michigan into a sword, disregarding the loss of life. Still unable to defeat the Chainsaw Devil, Yoru continues to transform states into weapons. This chapter sees Oregon and Virginia become “power-ups” as she unleashes an incredibly powerful attack reminiscent of All Might. The chapter concludes with Yoru attempting a final, devastating “Nuclear Punch” to finally defeat Denji.
The attacks are especially hilarious because the War Devil actually transforms the name “Oregon” into a sword, with the letters forming the blade and “USA” as the handle. Although Virginia’s power doesn’t become a physical weapon, Asa’s nuclear punch appears much stronger than the attacks shown from Oregon and Michigan so far. Tatsuki Fujimoto continues to demonstrate his unique creativity as a manga artist, particularly through his playful jabs at the United States.

United States of Chainsaw
In My Hero Academia, All Might frequently used powerful punches called “Smashes” against his enemies. He passed this fighting style on to Izuku Midoriya, who also known as Deku, continued to use it throughout the series, battling villains like All For One and Shigaraki. The anime’s biggest fight just concluded, but with a few episodes still to come, the Studio Bones adaptation isn’t over yet. As the show enters its final phase, we can anticipate some major revelations before the story concludes for Class 1-A.
As a huge fan, I’m really excited about the future of Chainsaw Man now that My Hero Academia is wrapping up! There’s still so much amazing manga content to adapt, and after the incredible Bomb Devil fight, the next story arc looks massive. Honestly, it might be too big for just one movie – it could even be more action-packed than the Reze Arc! I can’t wait to see how it all plays out.
