Many classic Cartoon Network episodes disappeared from streaming services like HBO Max recently. However, a large number of these episodes are now available to watch for free on an official platform. This change comes as Warner Bros. Discovery has been making significant adjustments to Cartoon Network’s older shows, removing them from HBO Max as licenses expire or for other reasons. While HBO Max used to be the go-to place for all Cartoon Network content, that’s no longer true.
Many beloved classic Cartoon Network shows are now available to stream again! While some moved to other platforms, others became difficult to find. Fortunately, Cartoon Network has launched a new, free YouTube channel called “Cartoon Cartoons” (first noticed by @RegularChannelUK on X) to make revisiting these episodes easy. This channel, particularly useful for viewers in PAL regions who previously relied on HBO Max, offers a wide selection of full episodes you can watch immediately.
Classic Cartoon Cartoons Are Now Streaming for Free
Fans can now watch full, free episodes of classic Cartoon Network shows like Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, Camp Laszlo, Ed, Edd n Eddy, Cow and Chicken, Dexter’s Laboratory, Chowder, and Courage the Cowardly Dog through a new online channel. The channel is regularly adding more content, so it’s worth checking back often. This is exciting news for fans because these shows are high-quality and haven’t been widely available to watch online until now.
Being a fan of recent Cartoon Network has been difficult. While the channel still releases new shows, it doesn’t play older favorites anymore. There were a few tries to bring back classic content, like the ‘Checkered Past’ block on Adult Swim, but it didn’t last long. Now, after many shows were taken off HBO Max, they’re largely unavailable, and fans often have to buy individual episodes online if they want to watch them.
Which Cartoon Network Classics Should You Watch First?

I’m a huge fan of older cartoons, and while everyone talks about the classic Cartoon Network shows, I always come back to Camp Laszlo and Chowder. They didn’t quite get the same recognition as the shows from the ‘golden age,’ but they were something special! Coming out later in the 2000s, they really stood out with their own unique style and humor. It’s awesome to hear that the creator of Chowder is even hoping to bring the show back someday – that would be incredible!
C.H. Greenblatt, the creator of Chowder, recently told ComicBook he’d be interested in revisiting the series. He mentioned that Warner Bros. has heard some proposals, but it would depend on finding the right time and funding. While not a full reboot, Greenblatt envisions a continuation that subtly evolves the show to reflect how the original audience has grown up and to justify a new version. He feels it needs a fresh twist rather than simply repeating what’s been done before.
