Fans finally know what happened to Foggy Nelson in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series, and unfortunately, it’s not good news. Charlie Cox, who plays Matt Murdock, recently confirmed that Foggy Nelson, the beloved lawyer from Hell’s Kitchen, has died.

During a Q&A session at the La Conve 64 convention in Monterrey, Mexico (part of Animex 2025) over the weekend of November 22-23, actor Charlie Cox directly addressed a fan’s question about whether his character, Foggy Nelson, could still be alive. The fan presented a popular theory hoping for a positive answer. However, Cox’s response was clear and disheartening. When asked about the possibility of Foggy surviving, Cox appeared puzzled and stated that Daredevil had definitively heard Foggy’s heart stop, confirming he is dead.

Bryan Cox totally noticed, and he actually apologized, saying he was really sad to break it to us. Foggy, along with his colleagues Matt Murdock and Karen Page, were celebrating a win at their usual hangout, Josie’s Bar. Unfortunately, a case Foggy was handling – involving a client nicknamed Dumb Benny – accidentally revealed the criminal dealings of Vanessa Fisk, the wife of the powerful crime boss Wilson Fisk, also known as the Kingpin.

Vanessa, determined to eliminate Foggy and safeguard her criminal organization, employed the ruthless assassin Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter, better known as Bullseye. While Matt had temporarily stepped away from being Daredevil, and was dealing with a disturbance, Bullseye took aim from a rooftop on the opposite side of the street.

A sniper shot Foggy in the chest. Daredevil immediately rushed back and began a fierce, close-quarters battle with Bullseye, fighting both inside and around the bar. As Karen Page tried to help Foggy, Daredevil continued to fight, using his heightened senses to listen for any sign of a pulse.

Charlie Cox mentioned that Daredevil knew Foggy had died when he no longer heard any sound. Foggy died from the gunshot wound while Karen held him.

The Mystery of Elden Henson’s Season 2 Return

The news that Henson was joining season two of Born Again led many to wonder if his character, Foggy Nelson, had somehow survived or would return. However, Cox’s recent comments confirm that Foggy won’t be back as a living character, meaning Henson will probably appear only in flashback scenes.
