Now that Stranger Things is ending, Finn Wolfhard’s next acting role has been announced. He’ll finish his work as Mike Wheeler during the show’s fifth and final season, but he’s already moving on to a new project.
Finn Wolfhard, known for his role in Stranger Things, is set to star in a new comedy called Crash Land alongside Gabriel LaBelle, according to Deadline. The film will be the directorial debut of Dempsey Bryk. Crash Land centers around a group of friends in a small town who make their own amateur stunt videos, similar in style to the Jackass series.
The movie’s concept began with an idea from Bryk and Ben Snider-McGrath. Alongside leads Finn Wolfhard and Owen LaBelle, Abby Quinn, Billy Bryk, and Noah Parker will also star in Crash Land. Bryk and Wolfhard previously worked together, co-writing, co-directing, and starring in the horror comedy Hell of a Summer, which was produced by their company, Kid Brother Productions.
Along with Julian Geneen, the film’s stars and Billy Bryk’s brother, Dempsey Bryk, will produce Crash Land. Matthew Miller of Zapruder Films and Matt Johnson, Charles Cohen, and LaBelle will executive produce, joined by Jasmin Kar, Sam Sutcliffe, and Dias Tobizarov from Ursa Major Entertainment. Ursa Major is co-financing the film with Elevation Pictures and Redlab.
