Jeremy Allen White Reveals When The Bear Season 5 Stars Production

I’m a huge fan of this show, and I was so excited to hear some recent news! It’s been consistently amazing, with new seasons coming out every year, and I just learned from the lead actor when they’re planning to start filming the next one. It’s great to know they’re already working on it!

As a critic, I have to say The Bear, which burst onto the scene in 2022, was an instant hit. The show’s been showered with awards – a whopping 21 Primetime Emmys, to name just a few – and has really launched the careers of its stars. I recently learned from Jeremy Allen White himself when they’re finally gearing up to start shooting Season 5.

Asked when, Allen replied, “Jan. 5 or something like that. Very soon.”

Since the show began, Allen’s popularity has soared. He’d already spent 11 seasons on Shameless, but The Bear truly made him a recognizable face. He notes the difference in his role on the two shows, explaining that while The Bear is also an ensemble cast, he didn’t feel the same level of responsibility as he did on Shameless, where actors like William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum carried a lot of the show. He adds that his connection to his character on Shameless, Philip Gallagher, varied from year to year.

He explained that he feels a stronger connection to Carmy and The Bear‘s creator, Christopher Storer, than he did with John Wells, the showrunner of Shameless. He believes this is likely because of his age at the time. When he worked on Shameless, he was only 18 or 19, and the story felt separate from his own life. But with Christopher Storer, whom he considers a friend and equal, the experience is different.

Since landing the role of chef Carmy Berzatto in the popular show ‘The Bear,’ the actor has felt a lot of pressure to improve his own cooking skills. He’s getting ready for Thanksgiving and plans to spend the holiday with friends in Los Angeles, contributing a casserole he’s making himself.

I remember cooking for everyone after our first season, and then again for around 30 people before we even started filming the first season. I had just finished culinary school and had a lot of kitchen experience, so people were starting to notice my skills. It wasn’t a bad thing, but it was clear everyone was paying attention to what I was doing.

When Will The Bear Premiere?

Now that Jeremy Allen White has said filming is starting shortly, we can expect the show to be back in 2026. It first came out in 2022 and has consistently released new seasons each summer, despite the growing popularity of its stars, including Ayo Edebiri who is currently working on many different projects.

Despite a busy schedule, the team managed to film seasons 3 and 4 consecutively. Season 1 was filmed from February 14th to March 31st, 2022, and released on June 23rd. They then filmed Season 2 from February 21, 2021, to April 28, 2023, which premiered on June 22nd. Filming for Seasons 3 and 4 took place between February 26th and May 21st, 2024, with releases in late June 2024 and 2025.

With production starting ahead of schedule, the show is still expected to be released in June 2026.
