It was highly anticipated that Megas would reappear in the Pokémon Trading Card Game, given the upcoming launch of Pokémon Legends Z-A. Rumors have hinted at numerous new Mega Evolutions, and fans have been anxiously waiting for confirmation from The Pokéemon Company. Now, we’ve finally received official news about the products in the English-language set, which will be known as Mega Evolution. While not the most imaginative name in Pokémon card history, it certainly sets our expectations straight.
In the Mega Evolution Pokemon card collection, you’ll find more than 180 cards in all. Approximately a dozen of these cards depict Mega Evolution Pokemon, such as examples we’ve seen before. Additionally, there will be 15 Trainer Cards, featuring over 50 unique illustrations for both Trainer and Pokemon cards. The initial wave of products for the Mega Evolution series has been unveiled today, showcasing various items from the new lineup, including booster pack art and mini tins. Images of these products have started to spread online.

As reported by PokeBeach, the product lineup includes a mini tin with Mega Lucario, a promo booster box, a fresh Mega Evolution Build & Battle box, individual booster packs, ETBs (Elite Trainer Boxes), and additional items. Most of these products are set to arrive on September 26th, marking the debut of the Mega Evolution set. However, eager gamers might be able to pre-order some of the new items quite soon.
New Pokemon TCG – Mega Evolution ETBs Likely Up for Pre-Order on Pokemon Center Soon
With the unveiling of the fresh lineup, enthusiasts of Pokémon got a sneak peek at the all-new Evolution Theme Boosters (ETBs) tied to this series. There are two Mega Evolution ETBs in store – one focused on Mega Lucario and another dedicated to Mega Gardevoir. These sets will hit the market in September, offering both Pokémon Center exclusive versions and standard retail editions. The Pokémon Center version will boast rare illustrations for Riolu and Alakazam as exclusives.
As of now, we haven’t received definite information about what’s in this new set of ETBs (Elite Trainer Boxes). However, based on past experiences with these boxes, it’s reasonable to assume that the contents will be quite similar. This implies that we can look forward to Mega Evolution booster packs, promotional cards, and Pokemon TCG accessories such as card sleeves, damage dice, and other items. The detailed list of contents might become available when pre-orders for these boxes start. And this could happen rather quickly.

Multiple trustworthy resources, such as PokeBeach, anticipate that pre-orders for the Pokemon Center Evolution Theme Boosters (ETBs) will start soon, possibly even beginning on July 10th or the following day. The recently announced Mega Evolution ETBs are expected to be included in these pre-orders. At present, there’s no waiting list on the Pokemon Center website, but eager Pokemon card collectors are keeping a close watch on it.
Beyond the lineup of Mega Evolutions, The Pokémon Company has unveiled another exciting addition in the widely-known Scarlet & Violet – Prismatic Evolutions series. Additionally, a new Premium Figure collection featuring Umbreon and Espeon will be released on September 26th.
