Rachel Zoe Shares Why Her & Rodger Berman’s 26-Year Marriage Ended

Rachel Zoe is reflecting on her breakup with ex Rodger Berman.

The fashion designer, who announced her split from her husband in September 2024 after 26 years together, explained her decision, saying it was the best thing for their sons, Skyler, 14, and Kaius, 11.

She told People magazine that she began to worry this wasn’t the best environment for her children. She explained that for the past 14 years, her kids have been her top priority, and every decision she makes is based on how it will impact them. She constantly considers their feelings and what they might think.

The 54-year-old stated she’s always believed people shouldn’t stay in unhappy relationships, and she doesn’t regret her decision to get a divorce.

She added that she has no regrets about giving the relationship her all, and doesn’t view the marriage as a failure. After 26 years together, she believes most of it was wonderful.

In fact, Rachel—who married Rodger in 1998—admitted to wishing she had sprung into action earlier.

You know, I’ve heard so many women say that looking back, they wish they’d left a difficult situation earlier. But honestly, you do what you can, and you move forward. For me, the most important thing was always what was best for my kids. I truly believe it’s better for children to have two loving parents, even if that means those parents aren’t together, than to stay in a situation where their parents are unhappy.

After her recent split, Rachel is starting a new chapter by joining season 15 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. However, she’s already decided she won’t be using dating apps when she starts dating again.

She told TopMob News’ Erin Lim Rhodes at BravoCon 2025 that she’s done with dating apps. She explained that she prefers to meet people and see if there’s an immediate connection. If it feels right, it’s meant to be, and if not, she’s moving on.
