The first preview of South Park’s upcoming Thanksgiving special reveals that Eric Cartman will be featured in the next episode. As the show nears the end of its current season, it’s building towards a potential finale with a long-running storyline that’s reaching a critical point. It appears Cartman will be central to how this story concludes.
The new season of South Park—Season 28—returns tonight, Wednesday, November 26th, on Comedy Central with a Thanksgiving-themed episode. After being absent for a few episodes due to a kidnapping by Peter Thiel, Cartman is back and likely scheming to win the annual Turkey Trot. Check out a sneak peek at the new episode below.
What to Know for South Park’s Thanksgiving Special
The fourth episode of South Park Season 28, titled “Turkey Trot,” will premiere on Comedy Central on Wednesday, November 26th at 10:00 PM Eastern and Pacific time. It will also be available to stream on Paramount+ starting the next day. The episode centers around the town’s annual Turkey Trot race, which descends into chaos when Cartman uses advanced, and likely unethical, science to try and win. Early previews suggest this episode will be a classic Cartman-focused story, after he’s had a smaller role in recent episodes.
In recent episodes, Cartman experienced a strange bout of uncontrollable laughter triggered by an online meme. This led to him being kidnapped by Peter Thiel, who believed Cartman held the key to preventing the birth of the Anti-Christ. Thiel had been using artificial intelligence to create fake scenarios – like Cartman attending school and having adventures – to deceive Cartman’s mother. However, the ruse was discovered, and Thiel was arrested. Now, it appears Cartman will return to his normal life as the season comes to a close.
How Will South Park End?

The final direction of South Park Season 28 is still unknown. While creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have been developing a storyline involving former President Donald Trump, they’ve admitted they’re essentially making it up as they go. Originally, Trump wasn’t expected to be a recurring character, but the plot has evolved to include a dramatic climax: Satan giving birth to the Anti-Christ, with JD Vance attempting to intervene, all while navigating a new relationship.
The current season of South Park will conclude on Wednesday, December 10th, bringing this chapter of the show to a close. However, don’t worry – South Park isn’t going anywhere! Thanks to a deal with Paramount, new episodes will be released every year for the next five years. You can currently watch every episode on Paramount+.
