The beloved show “King of the Hill” is making a comeback this August with a fresh season, and recently unveiled a sneak peek of its revamped opening theme to suggest significant changes in Arlen, Texas since viewers last visited. Fans are now given an even clearer glimpse into what the revival will offer in terms of appearance and sound for the new era, thanks to the first complete trailer for upcoming episodes. This video below offers a first look at Bobby’s group of adult friends, more of Hank and others, and plenty more exciting details. You can watch the new preview in the video provided.

When Does King of the Hill’s Revival Come Out?

The much-anticipated comeback of “King of the Hill,” now considered Season 14, is set to debut on both Hulu and Disney+’s Hulu platform on August 4th. This new season will span ten episodes, with original creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels back at the helm. Saladin K. Patterson steps in as showrunner for this revival. Many of the original voice stars, including Kathy Najimy, Stephen Root, Pamela Adlon, Lauren Tom, will reprise their roles. Additionally, Jonathan Joss is confirmed to return, having recorded for the revival prior to his passing. While some changes have been made to the characters behind the scenes, the essence of “King of the Hill” remains intact.

In the upcoming season, Johnny Hardwick, who originally voiced Dale Gribble, is set to reprise his role for six episodes. Unfortunately, Hardwick passed away during production of the revival, so Toby Huss – known for voicing Cotton Hill and Kahn Souphanousinphone in the original series – will take over as Dale’s voice for the remaining episodes. At this point, it remains unclear which other actors may return or join the cast for the new season.

What Will the New King of the Hill Be About?

Regarding the upcoming episodes of “King of the Hill”, the initial summary hints at significant transformations experienced by Hank Hill and the rest of the characters since the original series. “Upon returning to Arlen, Texas following years of work in Saudi Arabia to secure their retirement fund, Hank and Peggy encounter a transformed town. They rekindle friendships with Dale, Boomhauer, and Bill while Bobby, now living his dream as a chef in Dallas, spends his 20s socializing with classmates Connie, Joseph, and Chane.

In his twenties now, Bobby is back in the new episodes, which makes it close to ten years since the initial series events. So, when Hank comes home from Saudi Arabia, he’ll discover how much America has altered during his absence. However, Hank himself might not have undergone significant change. This sets up a perfect scenario for the same kind of humorous culture clash that defined Hank’s character in the original show too.
