Miss Universe pageant space is dealing with another controversy.
Just days after Fátima Bosch Fernández was crowned Miss Mexico, Jakkaphong “Anne” Jakrajutatip – a co-owner of the Miss Universe Organization through her company JKN Global Group – has been issued an arrest warrant in connection with a fraud case from 2023.
A Thai court told The Independent on November 26th that an arrest warrant was issued for Jakrajutatip. This happened because she didn’t show up for a court hearing in Bangkok on November 25th, after being released on bail related to a fraud charge from 2023. The court stated that Jakrajutatip, a co-owner of Miss Universe, didn’t notify them of her absence and was considered likely to flee.
Okay, so I’ve been following Anne Jakrajutatip super closely, and apparently, there’s this lawsuit that just came to light! According to The Independent, this guy, Raweewat Maschamadol, is claiming she and her company sold him some corporate bonds and totally ripped him off. He’s saying he lost over 30 million baht – which is like, over $930,000! Can you believe it? I’m just trying to piece together everything, but it sounds like he feels completely defrauded. It’s all so crazy!
While facing legal issues, Jakrajutatip resigned from her official roles at JKN, but she still owns the largest share of the company. JKN released a statement on November 24th denying she had left the country, though they didn’t initially respond to news of the arrest warrant.
TopMob News has contacted both the Miss Universe organization and Jakrajutatip for comment, but they haven’t responded yet.
The legal problems facing Jakrajutatip are happening at a difficult moment for Miss Universe. Just recently, Olivia Yacé, who finished as a runner-up in the 2025 competition, gave up her title as Miss Universe 2025 Africa & Oceania, explaining she needed to stay true to her personal beliefs.
In a recent Instagram post on November 24th, Yacé shared the values that are most important to her – respect, dignity, excellence, and equal opportunity. She then announced her resignation as Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, and stated she would no longer be involved with the Miss Universe Committee, expressing deep gratitude and respect.
Yacé shared that she successfully completed her duties even through difficult challenges, but she prioritized setting a good example for those who look up to her. She explained that her desire to be a positive influence was the main reason behind her decision. (TopMob News contacted the Miss Universe organization for comment, but they did not respond.)
Fernández was crowned Miss Universe on November 21st, shortly after publicly criticizing pageant official Nawat Itsaragrisi for calling her “dumb” during the event.
Despite the extremely public setback, Fernández held strong in her conviction.
Following the November 5th incident, she stated in an interview, translated from Spanish, that she wants her country to know she isn’t afraid to speak up. She feels empowered and has important things to share.
