The fact that Megas would reappear in the Pokemon Trading Card Game was highly anticipated, given the upcoming launch of Pokemon Legends Z-A. Leaks have hinted at numerous new Mega Evolutions, leaving fans eager for confirmation from The Pokemon Company. At last, we’ve received official news about the products arriving in the English version, which will be titled Mega Evolution. While not particularly original in the world of Pokemon cards, the name clearly sets expectations.
In the Mega Evolution Pokemon card collection, there will be a grand total of more than 180 cards. This set includes approximately a dozen Mega Evolution Pokemons like the examples given. Additionally, you’ll find 15 Trainer Cards in this series, boasting over 50 unique illustrations for both Trainer and Pokemon cards. Today, the initial wave of new products from the Mega Evolution lineup has been unveiled. Pictures have started to spread showing various items from the upcoming collection, such as the booster pack artwork and mini tins.

As reported by PokeBeach, the product range includes a mini tin with Mega Lucario, a promotional booster box, a brand-new Build & Battle box for Mega Evolution, individual booster packs, ETBs (Emergency Tactics Boxes), and more. Most of these items are expected to become available on September 26th, marking the launch of the Mega Evolution set. However, players may have the opportunity to pre-order some of the new merchandise quite soon.
New Pokemon TCG – Mega Evolution ETBs Likely Up for Pre-Order on Pokemon Center Soon
Simultaneously with the unveiling of the fresh lineup, enthusiasts of Pokémon were treated to a sneak peek at the latest Evolution-Theme Boosters (ETBs) accompanying this set. In total, there will be two Mega Evolution ETBs available; one focusing on Mega Lucario and another dedicated to Mega Gardevoir. These sets are expected to hit stores in September, with both versions – the Pokémon Center exclusive edition and the standard retail version – being released. The Pokémon Center-exclusive edition will contain special rare illustrations for Riolu and Alakazam, making them a unique addition to any collector’s set.
At this point, we haven’t received definitive details about the contents of the ETBs this time. Nevertheless, it seems reasonable to anticipate that the content will be similar to previous ETBs. This would imply that Mega Evolution booster packs, promotional cards, and Pokemon TCG accessories such as card sleeves, damage dice, and additional items might be included. The specific details of the contents are likely to be disclosed when pre-orders become available, which could happen quite soon.
Anticipation is growing for pre-orders of the Pokémon Center Evolution Theme Boosters (ETBs), with trusted site PokeBeach among those expecting them to start soon following the announcement on July 10th. Preliminary reports suggest that the Mega Evolution ETBs could be available for pre-order as early as the same day or the next, July 11th. At present, there’s no queue on the Pokémon Center website, but keen collectors are keeping a close watch on it.
Apart from introducing the Mega Evolution series, The Pokemon Company has unveiled another exciting addition to the Scarlet & Violet – Prismatic Evolutions lineup. Moreover, a new Premium Figure collection featuring Umbreon and Espeon is set to debut on September 26th.
