Seth Meyers had the best late night.
As a huge Seth Meyers fan, I was absolutely delighted to see his kids join him on the Thanksgiving episode of Late Night! He and his wife, Alexi Ashe, brought their three children – Ashe, who’s nine, Axel, seven, and little four-year-old Adelaide, or Addie as he calls her. While all the kids were adorable, Addie completely stole the show – she was just the cutest and most entertaining! It was such a heartwarming moment to see his family share that with all of us.
On the November 27th episode, Seth asked his three children what their costumes were for their Thanksgiving and Christmas cards. Addie excitedly shouted “Turkey!” and then added that she also dressed up as “Elf-aba.”
“You were Alphabet?” Seth asked, to which Ashe corrected him, saying, “She said Elphaba.”
As Axel shared, they had gone as characters from the 2003 film Elf. Addie also made a funny reference to their cousin Agnes, jokingly saying she “was a tomato.”
She had the audience roaring with laughter when she recounted her commute to the studio. She described the subway as smelling terrible, saying, ‘It smelled like diarrhea.’
The observation also made her brothers laugh, as Seth asked his daughter about her older siblings.
“Are your brothers being silly?” he asked Addie. She nodded and playfully tapped each of them before laughing heartily.
Honestly, when someone asked me who the sweetest brother is, she immediately ran and gave Ashe the biggest hug! But then, when they asked about the roughest one, she playfully ‘attacked’ Axel – it was so cute to watch! It really shows their different personalities, you know?
Addie hugged Ashe again and, pointing to Axel, explained, “I like him, but not that one.”
The connection between Ashe and Addie is truly unique, and Seth mentioned that Ashe was the one who had always wished for a little sister.
Axel didn’t want to be left out, so he also got a chance to perform for the crowd. His brother, Seth, playfully remarked, “You can always tell when Axel feels like dancing!”
Addie wasn’t finished performing, and when her dad told her it was time to end the interview, she protested loudly into the microphone, shouting, “No, no, no, no!”
Oh my gosh, when the Meyers kids showed up on the show, everyone went wild – but me? I practically lost it! Addie, especially, was just… everything. I was completely obsessed!
One TikTok commenter noted she’s clearly aware of her comedic talent, while another praised her ability to improvise and connect with the audience as ‘perfection’.
Addie confused her dad with some of her responses during the interview, but Seth eventually understood what she meant.
He posted on Instagram on November 28th that, despite some of Addie’s seemingly strange responses, they actually made a lot of sense, just in case anyone thought she wasn’t making any sense at all.
Addie mistakenly thought her cousin Agnes was dressed as a tomato because of a photo – Agnes was actually wearing a red elf costume! And her claim of being “Elf-aba” instead of an elf? That was inspired by Cynthia Erivo, one of Seth’s guests when they filmed the segment.
