The new movie, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle, has become a global hit since its release in Japan this summer, and a new trailer highlights Akaza’s role in the story. Demon Slayer has been incredibly popular in theaters worldwide this year, and it’s expected to continue its run well into 2025. As the film expands to more countries, fans are finding exciting ways to celebrate its achievements.
The movie Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle is doing very well in Chinese theaters and will remain exclusive to cinemas for the rest of the year. To encourage more fans to see it, especially as it’s the start of a new three-part story, new trailers are being released focusing on key characters. Here’s a special trailer featuring Akaza.
When Is Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Leaving Theaters?
I’m so thrilled to see Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle is a massive hit, especially in China – the global numbers are incredible! Because it’s doing so well, Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment have announced they aren’t planning a digital or home video release for the rest of this year. We’ll probably see it on those platforms sometime next year, but they haven’t given us any specific dates yet. Honestly, as long as people keep going to see it in theaters, they’re in no hurry to release it elsewhere, and I can’t blame them!
The first movie in the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle series was originally released in Japan with the subtitle “Akaza’s Return,” hinting at how important this powerful demon is to the story. Akaza previously had a major impact on the series by killing a Hashira in front of Tanjiro, and his reappearance in this new film sets the stage for the final battles against Muzan Kibutsuji and his demons.
What’s Next for Demon Slayer?
Just a reminder that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle is the start of a new series of three movies based on the Infinity Castle story arc from the original manga. Because the first movie did so well in theaters, it will likely stay in cinemas for a while, meaning fans may have a long wait before the next two films are released. There are currently no announced release dates for the sequels, so patience will be key.
It’s still unclear if the Demon Slayer anime will conclude with the Infinity Castle arc, as there’s one more story arc that hasn’t been adapted yet. However, if the upcoming movies continue to cover as much content as the first one, we might eventually see the entire story finished in a future film.
