Fans of Demon Slayer are highly anticipating the next movie in the Infinity Castle arc, following the incredible success of the first film. That movie made over 100 billion yen worldwide, a first for any Japanese film. While details about the second part are still limited, those familiar with the manga know it will feature some of the series’ most exciting battles. Sanemi Shinazugawa, also known as the Wind Hashira, will have a major role, alongside the other characters fighting within the Infinity Castle. Though he had a difficult introduction in the first season, Sanemi’s backstory was explored more recently in the Swordsmith Village Arc.
Sanemi got a bigger role during the Hashira Training Arc and then found himself battling inside the Infinity Castle with the other Demon Slayers. To celebrate his birthday on November 29th, 2025, the official Demon Slayer website released a new illustration of him. It’s a cute, chibi-style image showing him in a light-colored outfit and surprisingly holding flowers. The background is mostly green, echoing the colors of his powers. Ufotable’s official X account is also advertising new merchandise featuring this birthday artwork.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Trilogy Will Feature Sanemi’s Best Moments

As the Hashira Training Arc concluded, Sanemi rushed to the Ubuyashiki mansion, determined to protect Kagaya and his family from Muzan Kibutsuji. He believed he could arrive in time, but was shocked to find the mansion destroyed. Before he could confront Muzan, he was pulled into the Infinity Castle, burdened by the feeling that he’d failed to protect the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps.
Sanemi was deeply affected by Kagaya’s death, and we’ll learn more about why he respected the Master during the Infinity Castle Arc. He’s also one of the few characters whose full strength hasn’t been shown yet. Although the anime’s Hashira Training Arc offered a quick look at his Wind Breathing, that scene was created specifically for the anime and doesn’t demonstrate his true abilities.
Sanemi is an incredibly powerful Hashira, but the anime hasn’t fully showcased his abilities yet. That will change during the Infinity Castle arc, where he’ll be forced to push his limits against a formidable enemy and won’t give up. Because the manga concluded in 2025, Sanemi has been a popular character with fans for a long time, and they’re eagerly anticipating seeing his most impressive scenes animated.
