A DeviantArt user named @marcelorabello recently shared artwork imagining Alexandra Daddario, known for her role in Percy Jackson & the Olympians, as Wonder Woman. The fan art shows a modern take on the character, with Wonder Woman wearing a simpler, more everyday outfit than her traditional costume. You can view the artwork below.
Alexandra Daddario began her acting career in 2002 with a role on the soap opera All My Children, where she played Laurie Lewis for 43 episodes. She went on to appear in several TV shows like Law & Order and The Sopranos, and films such as The Attic and Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience.
Alexandra Daddario first gained widespread recognition in 2010 with a memorable role. She returned to the same character in the 2013 film Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters and then starred in a diverse range of popular movies, including Texas Chainsaw 3D, Baywatch, and Die in a Gunfight.
Wonder Woman Has Been Seen In Live-Action Media Before
Wonder Woman is one of DC Comics’ most beloved characters, and many actresses have played her over the last fifty years. Cathy Lee Crosby was the first, starring in the 1974 Wonder Woman TV movie. However, Lynda Carter is widely considered the most famous and recognizable Wonder Woman.
The original Wonder Woman TV series, lasting 59 episodes and a pilot movie, ran until 1979. It became so well-known and central to the character’s story that DC Comics revisited it in 2015 with the Wonder Woman ’77 Special. This special was one of three comics featuring Lynda Carter’s memorable portrayal of Wonder Woman.
Gal Gadot has famously played Wonder Woman in several movies, first appearing as the character in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. She later starred in Wonder Woman 1984, as well as Justice League, Shazam!, The Flash, and Shazam! Fury of the Gods. Although Wonder Woman appeared in the first season of Peacemaker, she was played by Kimberley Von Ilberg in those scenes.
So, DC’s new universe, led by James Gunn and Peter Safran, is still figuring out who’s going to play Wonder Woman next. They’ve said they’re actively working on a Wonder Woman project and the script is being written, but honestly, we haven’t heard anything about what the movie will actually be about, or who they’re thinking of to take over the role. It’s a bit of a mystery right now!
