Robert Wagner is thinking of his lost love.
To commemorate the 44th anniversary of his wife Natalie Wood’s death – she tragically drowned during a boat trip – the Hart to Hart actor shared a remembrance of her.
Robert shared a post on Instagram on November 29th remembering Natalie. He wrote, “Thinking of Nat today.” He added that her kindness, beauty, and love live on through their daughters, Courtney Wagner and Natasha Gregson Wagner, and their grandchildren.
He posted a black and white photo with Natalie, and they were both smiling for the camera.
“Forever missed, forever cherished,” he concluded. “More than love.”
Natalie and Robert married each other twice during her lifetime. They first wed in 1957, when Natalie was 19 and Robert was 27, but divorced in 1961. Natalie then married Richard Gregson, but she and Robert remarried in 1972 and stayed together until her death in 1981.
The details surrounding Natalie’s death at 43 are still unknown. That Thanksgiving weekend, she and her husband, Robert, were on their 60-foot yacht, called Splendor, with Natalie’s Brainstorm co-star, Christopher Walken.
The only other person aboard the ship with the trio was the captain, Dennis Davern.

Natalie’s body was found in the water on November 29, 1981, after Robert reported her missing the previous night. Authorities determined she drowned, but the exact cause of death remained unclear.
Since her death, the investigation into what happened to the actress from West Side Story has been looked at many times, but no clear answers have ever been found.
As a lifestyle expert who’s followed this case closely, I can tell you that some new witness statements came to light in 2011. These statements, shared with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s homicide detectives, really helped clarify what happened the night of her death. In fact, when I spoke with TopMob News in 2018, the bureau confirmed these statements included details about Robert and Natalie’s last moments together – information that hadn’t been known before.
According to a statement, someone heard shouting and crashing noises coming from Natalie Wood and Robert Wagner’s cabin. Soon after, other people saw a man and a woman arguing on the deck, and they thought the voices were those of the couple.

Investigators said they don’t currently have enough evidence to make an arrest, and the case is still being treated as a suspicious death. However, they are hopeful that witnesses will come forward, as they believe even challenging cases can be solved with more information.
The bureau stated that Robert has consistently been a person of interest in Natalie’s death and continues to be so.
The former NCIS actor has consistently maintained that he wasn’t with Natalie when she drowned and that he played no role in her death.
“We were deeply in love and had a wonderful life together,” he shared in an interview for the documentary 48 Hours. “But everything changed instantly. In a single moment, it was all taken away, and I wasn’t able to be there for her when she needed me.”
