Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos flew their empty nest this Thanksgiving.
This year, my husband and I decided to do something a little different for the holidays. Instead of hosting our usual dinner here in New York, we flew over to London to spend time with our daughter, Lola, who’s 24. We stayed in a hotel while we were there, and honestly, it was the best decision we could have made! We wouldn’t trade it for the world.
Kelly shared on the December 1st episode of Live with Kelly and Mark that her family had an amazing Thanksgiving. They traveled to London to see their daughter and spent the holiday at a hotel, which she declared was the best Thanksgiving they’ve ever had.
What really surprised Kelly—who shares 28-year-old Michael and 22-year-old Joaquin with her husband of 29 years—was how peaceful Thanksgiving dinner was when she didn’t have to do any of the work.
She said, “The dinner is here now. And after we finished, the dishes were cleared.”
The shift in how things were done might have been a big deal for 55-year-old Kelly, but for Mark, this year’s Thanksgiving was just like any other.
It was a pretty standard year for me,” the Scream 7 actor said. “I just went to set and was happy to be there, which was fantastic.
Kelly, who spent the holiday with their son Michael, still loves to entertain, even though their other son, Joaquin, couldn’t join them because of work. It’s just in their nature to be a wonderful host.
I eventually stood up and began clearing the dinner plates, and Lola asked me what I was doing. I honestly didn’t know why! I explained that I felt like I was on autopilot – stuck in a habit. I’d gotten so used to clearing after dinner in preparation for dessert, and when dessert finally came, it was amazing.

Although both agreed this year’s Thanksgiving was great, they initially disagreed about when to have dinner.
The 54-year-old actor, known from Riverdale, recently started a discussion about the best time to eat Thanksgiving dinner. They prefer to eat earlier than Kelly, who plans to serve the meal at 6 p.m.
On the November 26th episode of Live With Kelly and Mark, she playfully told her husband that if he wasn’t happy with something, he could always make a sandwich, as dinner was scheduled for 6 p.m.
What if everyone got hungry before then? She jokingly suggested they could order lunch through a delivery app like Uber Eats, and then they’d all have dinner at the usual time.
