In EastEnders, Anthony Trueman (Nicholas Bailey) is in trouble. Howie Danes (Delroy Atkinson) recently found out a surprising secret about him, putting Anthony in a difficult situation.
Okay, so Dr. Lucas returned to Walford after nearly a decade away – nine years, to be exact – and the reason brought a tear to my eye. He came back for his father, Patrick Trueman, and his wedding to Yolande. Rudolph Walker and Angela Wynter are fantastic in these roles, and it was genuinely touching to see this family moment unfold. It’s a nice bit of emotional weight for the show, and a welcome return for the doctor.
He initially said he was just visiting for the event, but it turned out he’d split up with his wife, Sophie, and didn’t have a home to return to.
Because they’re no longer close, he’s chosen to stay and has taken a job at the doctor’s office in the Panesar House.
I’m really excited to see Anthony trying to reconnect with Zoe Slater! It’s been so long – like, twenty years! – since they were together, and it’s great that they’ve found their way back to each other. I’m hoping they can make it work this time.
She rejected his first kiss, but they ended up sleeping together last week while someone nearby was secretly trying to make her life difficult. Surprisingly, Anthony was later spotted looking at saved photos of her on his computer.
Okay, so yesterday’s episode was a bombshell! I finally figured out what was going on with Howie – turns out he’s been swiping stuff from the packages he delivers. And get this – he proposed to Kim with Penny Branning’s ring! Seriously, Penny’s ring! It’s going to cause major drama for the Trueman-Fox family, I just know it.
Anthony heard her upset about the lost package and quickly figured out what must have gone wrong.
He tried to talk to Howie about it, but the issue was quickly dismissed. However, they had another confrontation on today’s show.
Everyone gathered at Harry’s Barn to celebrate, and Anthony told Howie he needed to break up with Kim by the end of the night.
But Howie ran into a problem. When he offered to replace the jewelry, explaining it wasn’t very valuable and he’d get her something new, she wasn’t interested and said she didn’t need a replacement right away.
He realized he’d have to do whatever it took to stop Anthony, so he started investigating Anthony’s history. When he contacted Sophie, she told him she had previously gotten a restraining order against her husband.
Although the situation hasn’t been taken to court, she wanted to warn people about his history of inappropriate behavior towards women.
Howie and Anthony were now rivals, each holding a secret they didn’t want revealed about the other.
That evening, Zoe came back to Arthur’s house, pleading to be let in. She said she was sorry for wrongly blaming him for her troubles, and as she leaned into his embrace, he gave a chilling smile.
Is he purposely scaring Zoe to make her more dependent on him?
