Fans are optimistic again about the upcoming Splinter Cell Remake now that the original game director has returned to the project after leaving three years ago.
David Grivel announced on LinkedIn last week that he’s returning to Ubisoft Toronto as Game Director for the Splinter Cell Remake, calling it a special project with a great team.
Until 2022, Patrice Drivel led the development of the Splinter Cell Remake. He then moved to EA to work on Battlefield 6, returning to Ubisoft Toronto in May 2024 for a different, unannounced project. After leaving Ubisoft again late last year following the closure of the studio Worlds Untold, Drivel has now rejoined the Splinter Cell Remake team, three years after initially leaving.
The remake of the original Splinter Cell game was announced in December 2021, but there haven’t been many updates since. The involvement of David Grivel could now help speed up development.
