Remakes rarely surpass the films they’re based on, but one did just that nearly 50 years ago. Director Philip Kaufman revisited a classic 1950s science fiction horror movie, and his version became even more iconic. Now, that film is available to stream on Prime Video, making their selection of movies even stronger.
The classic sci-fi thriller Invasion of the Body Snatchers is now available on Prime Video. Known for its incredibly memorable and unsettling visuals, it’s a must-watch for subscribers looking for a great movie before the end of the year. Prime Video added the film on December 1st.
The film Invasion of the Body Snatchers is based on Jack Finney’s novel The Body Snatchers and depicts an alien invasion unfolding in San Francisco. Strange seeds arrive from outer space and begin to replace people with alien duplicates. More than just a sci-fi thriller, the movie explores themes of paranoia and what it means to be human, and it’s known for its lasting, unsettling imagery.
The classic film Invasion of the Body Snatchers features a fantastic cast, including Donald Sutherland, who delivers a memorable scene many people recognize even if they haven’t seen the movie. Brooke Adams, Veronica Cartwright, Leonard Nimoy, and a young Jeff Goldblum also star.
