Netflix is releasing a lot of new and returning shows in December, but they’ve highlighted 13 that are expected to be the most popular. Late November brought the first part of Stranger Things Season 5, with the initial four episodes concluding the series. Other new titles like The Beast in Me and Man on the Inside also premiered in November.
Netflix announced its December 2025 TV show lineup on Instagram. The post included exact release dates for each new show, and even specified when episodes would become available on some titles.
The shows highlighted in the graphic aren’t the only new series coming to Netflix in December. Many other titles will be added, and some of those might even become more popular. Netflix is specifically promoting these featured shows because they believe they deserve extra attention.
Netflix’s Biggest December 2025 TV Shows
My Next Guest with David Letterman and Adam Sandler – December 1

Netflix has released a new episode of David Letterman’s talk show, My Next Guest. In the show, the retired late-night host and comedian has casual conversations with prominent figures in entertainment, offering viewers a glimpse into their lives and perspectives.
On December 1st, David Letterman welcomed comedy icon Adam Sandler to his show. During the 48-minute conversation, they talked about Sandler’s early career doing stand-up, his work in more dramatic acting roles, and the story of his famous Fender Stratocaster guitar.
Playing Gracie Darling – December 1

The Australian TV series Playing Gracie Darling is now available on Netflix in the United States, starting December 1st. It has already been released in Canada, the UK, and Australia on Paramount+, but a deal between Netflix and Sony Pictures Television, who distribute the show, means it’s exclusively streaming on Netflix in the US.
A supernatural thriller centers around Gracie Darling, who vanished 27 years ago during a disastrous séance. Now, in the present day, her friend Joni Gray gets news that another member of the Darling family has disappeared. This compels Joni to return to her hometown and start looking into what happened.
With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration – December 3

As a big fan of Meghan Markle’s series, I’m really excited for the new special episode of With Love, Meghan dropping on Netflix on December 3rd! It’s a one-time holiday episode, and from what I’ve heard, it’s all about her favorite things to do during the holidays – things like recipes, crafts, and traditions she loves. It sounds super cozy and festive!
I just saw the trailer for this new special, and it looks like Prince Harry will be making an appearance alongside Meghan Markle! They’ve also got tennis superstar Naomi Osaka joining in, which is awesome. Honestly, I’m a little surprised Netflix is putting more money into this – the first couple of seasons of ‘With Love’ didn’t exactly blow anyone away, so they’ll definitely be watching to see if this ‘Holiday Celebration’ special can turn things around.
The Abandons – December 4

I’m so excited for this! Kurt Sutter, the guy behind shows like Sons of Anarchy and The Shield, has a new Western coming to Netflix called The Abandons, and it drops on December 4th. Even better, Lena Headey (Cersei from Game of Thrones!), Gillian Anderson, and Lucas Till are all going to be in it. I can’t wait!
The new TV show, The Abandons, takes place in the United States during the 1850s and focuses on the clashes between various outlaw gangs. It’s set before the traditional Wild West period, depicting life on the American Frontier and the rise of these gangs before the Civil War.
Owning Manhattan Season 2 – December 5

Season 2 of Owning Manhattan will premiere on Friday, December 5th. The first season came out in June 2024 and was quickly picked up for another season in August 2024.
“Owning Manhattan” is a reality show featuring Ryan Serhant, the head of the SERHANT real estate company. Each episode highlights stunning, high-end homes and properties located in and around New York City.
Man Vs Baby – December 11

Rowan Atkinson, the famous comedian known for Mr. Bean, is behind a new Netflix comedy series called Man Vs Baby, launching on December 11th. He created, wrote, and will star in the show, which continues the story from his 2022 series, Man Vs Bee.
This new British comedy will have four half-hour episodes. It stars Rowan Atkinson as Trevor Bingley, who unexpectedly ends up looking after the Baby Jesus after a school nativity play. When the performance is over, no one takes the baby home, and Trevor finds himself in charge of it for the entire Christmas season.
Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft Season 2 – December 11

The popular Tomb Raider video game series was reimagined in the 2010s with a three-game storyline called the Tomb Raider Survivor trilogy. Continuing the story, Netflix released an animated series, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, in 2024, which takes place in the same universe as the games.
Fans can rejoin Lara Croft for the second season of the animated series on December 11th. This will also be the final season, with Marvel’s Hayley Atwell continuing to voice the iconic character as she embarks on a new set of adventures.
Home for Christmas Season 3 – December 12

The third season of the popular Norwegian Christmas romantic comedy, Home for Christmas, arrives on Netflix on December 12th. The first two seasons, which were released in 2019 and 2020, were both well-received.
The movie Home for Christmas centers around Johanne (Ida Elise Broch), who desperately needs to find a boyfriend to bring home for the holidays. She previously told her family she was dating someone, and now she’s scrambling to make it believable!
What’s In The Box? – December 17

The new Netflix game show, What’s In The Box?, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, will launch on Wednesday, December 17th. The show features six episodes where contestants try to win prizes hidden inside various boxes.
Emily in Paris Season 5 – December 18

Lily Collins will reprise her role as Emily Cooper in Season 5 of Emily in Paris, premiering on Netflix December 18th. The last season left Emily in Rome, where she was working to launch a new office for her agency. But don’t worry, Netflix has confirmed that Paris will still be a major location in the show, alongside Rome.
The series Emily in Paris has become a huge success for Netflix. The fourth season attracted almost 20 million viewers within its first four days, and fans are eagerly anticipating the upcoming fifth season.
Stranger Things 5: Volume 2 – December 25

Fans of Stranger Things have a special Christmas gift coming this year: the second part of the show’s final season will be released on December 25th. While the first volume included four episodes, this final volume will contain just three (episodes 5 through 7).
The first part of Stranger Things 5 left viewers stunned by revealing Will Byers has special abilities, and fans are eagerly anticipating the next episodes. Good news: they won’t have to wait too long! The show is set to return on Christmas Day, promising answers to many lingering questions.
Similar to the first part, Volume 2 of Stranger Things 5 will also debut at 8 p.m. Eastern Time on Christmas Day.
Members Only: Palm Beach – December 29
Get ready for Members Only: Palm Beach, a new reality show premiering on December 29th. The first season will feature eight episodes and follow a group of women as they experience the exclusive and glamorous social scene in Florida’s wealthiest area.
Stranger Things 5: The Finale – December 31

Since its debut in 2016, Stranger Things has become a cultural phenomenon. When the series concludes on New Year’s Eve, December 31st, longtime fans will be finishing an almost ten-year journey with the show. The final episode, titled The Finale, will be a lengthy one – clocking in at 2 hours and 5 minutes, making it longer than most movies.
The show’s ending is hugely important for fans, potentially setting the tone for the next couple of years. People are already guessing which characters will survive, who will die, and if any romantic relationships will finally blossom. Netflix has cleverly built anticipation by splitting the final season into three parts and even planning a limited theatrical release for the very last episode.
On December 31, at 8 p.m. ET, Stranger Things finally closes its final chapter.
