Leah Lewis Returns to Matlock After David Del Rio Firing

Court is back in session for Leah Lewis.

After reports surfaced nearly two months ago that her “Matlock” co-star, David Del Rio, had been fired due to a sexual assault allegation, the actress returned to filming season two of the CBS drama.

On December 1st, Leah shared a photo on her Instagram Story of herself dressed as Sarah Franklin from the show. She wore a brown blouse and tie and posed next to a trailer, captioning the post, “And we’re back up and running!”

Leah hasn’t publicly commented on the reported sexual assault claim, but she did post a personal update soon after David was fired from the series starring Kathy Bates in October.

She announced on Instagram that her mom, Lorraine Lewis, was with her, adding, “We’re moving forward with love and strength. I’m well cared for. Thank you to everyone for all your support and kindness.”

“We’re definitely making progress,” the Elemental actress said. “The most important thing to remember is strength. Please focus on that.”

Shortly after Leah shared her news, David’s wife, Katherine Del Rio, appeared to make a pointed comment about David’s former colleague with a post of her own.

Katherine shared a photo with her mom on Instagram, along with a message addressing a situation involving Leah. She wrote that they were focusing on healing and moving forward with love and strength after Leah’s actions impacted their family, and thanked everyone for their support. The post was later deleted, but was viewed by Deadline.

Katherine briefly posted on her Instagram Story, sharing a close-up photo of Leah with the caption, “This is the most disturbing person I’ve ever met.”

TopMob News contacted CBS, David’s representatives, and the representatives for Leah and Katherine for comment on David’s departure, but received no response.

He’s this incredible surgeon who just walks away from his perfect life in Boston to become a simple doctor in this tiny, adorable coastal town where he used to spend his summers. They’re immediately annoyed with him, even though he’s literally their only doctor! It’s so frustrating because he’s a genius when it comes to medicine, solving every weird little ailment or mystery, but all he wants is peace and quiet! And what they don’t know is he’s hiding something – a terrible phobia and some really painful childhood stuff that makes it impossible for him to connect with anyone.
