Disney+ has finally released a first look at the upcoming second season of Rivals, over a year after it was renewed.
The first season left viewers shocked with a dramatic ending for David Tennant’s character, Lord Tony Baddingham. He was last seen being struck in the head with an award by his partner, Cameron Cook (played by Nafessa Williams), who also produces the show ‘Corinium’.
I have a feeling Tony is really focused on getting revenge this time, more than ever before! I just saw a new picture of him, and he looks super serious walking away from his helicopter – definitely a different vibe than we’ve seen before.
New photos from the set of ‘Rivals’ reveal more about the characters. We see Naomi Watts as Cameron in what looks like a business meeting. Aidan Turner, playing Declan O’Hara, is pictured near a camper van, sporting a t-shirt that perfectly matches its color.

The last scene features Bella Maclean as Taggie O’Hara and Alex Hassell as Rupert Campbell-Black sharing a private moment in a pantry. Despite admitting their feelings for each other in the final episode, it seems they haven’t yet taken steps to become a public couple.
Okay, so their dad, Declan, already talked to Rupert about things – Rupert promised he wouldn’t try anything with Taggie, which is good – but honestly, I’m worried this whole situation could really mess up Declan and Rupert’s professional relationship. It just feels like a disaster waiting to happen, you know?

Honestly, these new images have me even more excited for the next season! I’m seriously counting down the days. We don’t have an exact release date for Rivals season 2 yet, but at least we know it’s coming in 2026. It feels like forever away, but I can’t wait!
The upcoming episodes promise to be even more captivating, filled with clever humor, passionate moments, and shocking surprises. Expect increased conflict, stronger rivalries, and characters whose loyalty will be seriously tested as they pursue their goals.

The new season is currently being filmed in the UK. It comes after the recent passing of Dame Jilly Cooper, the author of the original book ‘Rivals’ and an executive producer on the show. She had previously praised the series as a fantastic adaptation.
The second season returns to the beautiful Cotswolds, immersing viewers in the exciting and competitive world of 1980s British TV. It brings back the beloved cast from the first season and also welcomes some fresh new characters.
After the shocking ending of last season, where Tony’s life was left uncertain, Lord Baddingham returns seeking revenge. He’s determined to ensure Corinium remains the dominant power, no matter the cost.
Rutshire will also be introducing some new cast members, including Rupert Everett and Hayley Atwell, who were previously announced for important roles.
Katherine Atwell will play Helen Gordon, the ex-wife of Rupert and mother to his children. Tom Everett will play her new husband, Malise Gordon, who used to be Rupert’s show-jumping coach.
Joining the cast of Rivals season 2 are new stars Maxim Ays, Holly Cattle, Oliver Dench, Amanda Lawrence, Bobby Lockwood, Eliot Salt, and Jonny Weldon.
