To celebrate the upcoming Blu-ray release of ‘The Collection: Season 21’, Doctor Who recently featured a special episode that revisited the show’s history, bringing back familiar characters and moments.
A brand new audio adventure, “Destination: Daleks,” features Peter Davison returning as the Fifth Doctor. Janet Fielding also reprises her role as his companion, Tegan. The story was co-written by Pete McTighe, who previously worked on “The War Between the Land and the Sea.”
The Doctor and their companion arrive at Butler’s Wharf, a location on the River Thames in London, which was famously used for the 1984 Doctor Who story ‘Resurrection of the Daleks’. This was also the last adventure for Tegan Jovanka as a regular companion.
When they find a dead soldier with a data beacon, the Doctor and Nyssa are shocked to receive a distress call from an old companion, Turlough, played by Mark Strickson.
Turlough last appeared in the 1984 story ‘Planet of Fire,’ where he chose to return to his home planet, Trion, leaving the Doctor and Tegan behind. Now, we find out that Trion is under attack by a mysterious enemy.
Turlough desperately asks the Doctor for assistance, but their troubles worsen when the attackers on Trion are revealed to be the Daleks!
The complete trailer for Doctor Who: Season 21 Collection is now available, and it includes the short story “Destination: Daleks.” You can watch it here.
