Doctor Who’s Ncuti Gatwa reveals he doesn’t know who the next Doctor will be

In this latest episode, the opening credits didn’t label Piper as “The Doctor”, which is usual in the show. This has left viewers speculating if perhaps she could reprise her role as Rose, having possibly traded bodies with The Doctor, or if there might be some other unexpected twist unfolding instead.

Currently, Ncuti Gatwa, who is currently marketing his latest work, “Born With Teeth,” has openly stated that he himself is unsure about who will be taking on the role of the next Doctor. This statement could add fuel to speculations that it might not be Jodie Whittaker who continues in this role.

When asked directly if he was done portraying the Doctor on Doctor Who, he responded to Nick Robinson on the Today program: “I have concluded my role as Doctor Who, though perhaps we didn’t quite see the sparkle of gold – I’m unsure about that. Frankly, I haven’t got a clue who the next Doctor will be, but it definitely won’t be me.

It turns out that Peter Davison, who played the Fifth Doctor, is also unaware of the details surrounding Billie Piper’s return. He mentioned this to Starburst magazine, stating that he has only heard rumors and doesn’t fully understand the context or purpose of her comeback, describing it as a rather unusual concept.

As a movie enthusiast, let me share my thoughts: “In my opinion, she doesn’t seem to fit the role of the Doctor. It feels more like a surprise twist in the finale, aimed at catching viewers off guard with a shocking revelation – ‘Whoa, what’s this?’ Almost as if to say, ‘Step away from that character, please.’
