Fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender might finally get the role-playing game they’ve been hoping for. Even though the show first aired 20 years ago, Avatar still has a dedicated and enthusiastic following. It stood out from other Nickelodeon cartoons like SpongeBob SquarePants and The Fairly Oddparents by telling a more complex, continuing story. While it was still funny and enjoyable for all ages, Avatar dealt with serious themes and a young hero’s responsibility to save the world.
As a huge fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender, the incredible bending powers always felt perfect for a video game. It’s no surprise they tried to make games during the show’s original run! Sadly, those first three games weren’t great, and the last one ended up only on older consoles like Nintendo and PlayStation 2, which was a step down since the second game was on Xbox 360. There have been a few other Avatar games since then, and now even a fighting game is coming, but what we really want is a massive, high-quality RPG where we can truly experience the power of bending as the Avatar!
Avatar: The Last Airbender Fans Should Keep an Eye on This New RPG
Okay, so we’re still waiting for that perfect game, but I just found something that might hold us over! Pathea Games is making this new RPG called The God Slayer, and it looks awesome. You play as a guy in this cool steampunk city who can control the elements – earth, fire, water, wood, and metal. Seriously, you can do way more than the Avatar! I’ve seen some gameplay, and it’s shaping up to be really good. Hopefully, it delivers!
The God Slayer is a fresh open-world RPG reminiscent of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Players take on the role of an Elemancer, mastering fire, water, earth, metal, and wood through the power of qi. Sony is publishing the game as part of its China Hero Project, and it features a unique eastern-inspired steampunk aesthetic.

Currently, there’s no confirmed release date for The God Slayer, meaning it could be a long time before it’s available. When it does launch, it will be on Xbox, PlayStation 5, and PC. Last year, Paramount announced they were collaborating with Saber Interactive on a new, high-quality Avatar game that fans hope will be the definitive experience. The game will feature an original story and a new Avatar character, but details are scarce, and we don’t know when it might be released.
