Now that Sadie Sink is joining Marvel, Caleb McLaughlin – who starred with her on Stranger Things – is sharing his ideal role within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As the current Multiverse Saga nears its conclusion, only a few movies and shows remain before the big finale, Avengers: Secret Wars, planned for 2027.
In a recent game on the show How Well Do You Know the “Stranger Things” Cast?, Caleb McLaughlin shared his desire to play Miles Morales in a live-action film. His co-stars, including Sadie Sink, tried to guess his dream role, and McLaughlin confirmed, “That’s a dream role.”
Sadie Sink, known for her role as Max Mayfield in the Netflix series Stranger Things, will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2026 with Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The film, starring Tom Holland and directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, is expected to wrap up filming this month and is scheduled for release on July 31st.
When this story was published, it wasn’t yet known which character Sydney Sweeney would play in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie. Fans have speculated she might be playing either Jean Grey or Rachel Cole-Alves, as she’s one of the newest additions to the cast.
Currently, Miles Morales won’t be appearing in Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films. Sony Pictures is focusing on animated projects for the character, with his next appearance planned for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, scheduled for release in 2027.
It’s unlikely we’ll see Miles Morales join the Marvel Cinematic Universe until Phase 7 at the earliest. Marvel Studios is currently concentrating on the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars films, and production on the Phase 6 finale is scheduled to start in 2026. Plus, it’s unclear how much longer Tom Holland intends to continue playing Peter Parker.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is set to return in 2026 with the Disney+ show Wonder Man, which will begin streaming on January 27th.
