I’m so hyped! After nearly two years, the anime is finally wrapping up the first part of the Final Saga of One Piece! The Straw Hats are heading to Egghead Island right after Wano, and we’re finally going to meet Dr. Vegapunk – the world’s greatest scientist! Apparently, he’s got six incredible assistants too. It’s wild to learn he’s been working with the World Government for years, and is responsible for a lot of their powerful tech. But things aren’t so simple – he’s in serious danger because he’s been secretly investigating the Void Century!
Things are rapidly escalating in Egghead as the Straw Hats and Jewelry Bonney find themselves caught in an increasingly intense battle with a growing number of enemies. The anime began adapting the Egghead Incident arc in January 2024, and even paused production for six months to ensure top-quality animation. This arc, which marks the beginning of the series’ Final Saga and sets the stage for a massive war, has delivered incredible action and revealed crucial story details, captivating fans with its non-stop excitement. After a packed arc filled with memorable moments, the anime is set to conclude the Egghead Incident within the next few weeks.
One Piece’s Egghead Incident Arc Will Conclude in December 2025

According to @pewpiece on X, a trusted source for One Piece news, the anime will air the final four episodes of the current arc without any interruptions. This puts the arc’s conclusion on December 24th, 2025. While not an official announcement, @pewpiece has a long history of sharing accurate information. Following the end of this arc, the anime will take a three-month break before returning in April 2026 to begin the highly anticipated Elbaph Arc.
Over twenty years ago, the One Piece series hinted at the Straw Hats eventually traveling to the land of the Giants, introducing characters Dorry and Brogy. Fans of the manga are anticipating that the upcoming story will be even more dramatic than the events currently unfolding on Egghead Island. In a major change, the anime is also switching from its traditional weekly release schedule to a new format of 26 episodes per year, after more than 26 years of weekly releases.
The studio decided to maintain the high animation quality while also protecting its staff from overwork. Despite a revised schedule, the series will continue to cover one chapter of the source material per episode. The story will jump into the Elbaph Arc immediately after the Straw Hats and their friends escape Egghead and defeat the Five Elders. The final four episodes of the anime will wrap up the exciting battle against the villains and show what happens in the wake of this world-changing event.
