But honestly, when I think of James Bond, it’s Roger Moore’s films that really stand out. For a lot of people, his movies are James Bond, and I think the franchise would be amazing if it went back to that fun, adventurous style. It’s time for a return to that classic 007 feel!

Following Sean Connery and George Lazenby, Roger Moore became the third actor to play James Bond. His films – including Live and Let Die, Moonraker, and The Man with the Golden Gun – shaped a new image of the character for audiences. Surprisingly, many of the gadgets and familiar elements of Bond films actually originated during Moore’s time as 007. With a fresh reboot planned, it’s a good time to revisit the Bond films of the 1970s.

James Bond is Only as Good as the Gadgets

If MGM wants to make these new movies feel fresh and exciting, bringing back that sense of fun and those over-the-top gizmos – think Roger Moore’s era – feels like a really smart move. It’s a way to honor the past while forging a new path.

Roger Moore Represented a Fun Time For James Bond

The actors who played James Bond each brought a unique style to the role. Pierce Brosnan’s films were definitely a product of the 1990s – big, dramatic, and played straight. Roger Moore, on the other hand, brought a lighter, more adventurous feel to the character. He handled more unbelievable storylines, but kept everything feeling thrilling and fun.

This new Bond film features incredibly unusual elements – like a villain with an extra nipple, laser gun battles in space, and a fight against a giant with metal teeth. These over-the-top concepts could be exactly what the franchise needs to stand out and launch a fresh era.

After a string of more serious James Bond portrayals, the next film could benefit from revisiting the playful style of the Roger Moore era. Incorporating more gadgets, over-the-top villains, and exciting, larger-than-life stories could be a great way for Amazon MGM to create something truly memorable.
