Resident Evil Requiem’s Second Playable Character Seemingly Leaked by GameStop

Capcom will be showing off a “new look” at their upcoming game, Resident Evil Requiem, during The Game Awards on December 11th. However, GameStop may have accidentally revealed a major announcement ahead of schedule. Be careful, as the following information may contain spoilers!

The special Deluxe Edition, as listed on the store’s website, comes with an “Expansion Pass” called “The Sanctuary,” which will add two new story chapters and a significant update to the Mercenaries mode. Surprisingly, it also says you’ll be able to play as Rosemary Winters, the daughter of Ethan Winters from Resident Evil 7.

In addition to a visual effect for her goggles, Rose receives three unique outfits with the “Shadow Walker” Costume Pack. Players have speculated she might be a playable character in Mercenaries mode, but she could also appear as part of the main story campaign.

Okay, so the new game seems to be starting with Grace Ashcroft, about 30 years after the Raccoon City disaster – so around 2028, if you’re counting. And since we could actually play as Rose in the DLC for Resident Evil Village, which was set in 2037, I’m guessing there’s going to be a pretty big jump forward in time. Everyone’s been talking about Leon, and where he’ll fit into all this, especially with all the rumors going around. Honestly, I’m just happy we’re at least getting Mercenaries mode confirmed – that’s awesome!

The new game, Resident Evil Requiem, will be available on February 27, 2026, for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. More details about the game are expected to be revealed in early 2026.
