Netflix’s Best Fantasy of 2024 Unveils New Look Ahead of Season 2

Following the success of Ryoko Kui’s manga, Delicious in Dungeon, Studio Trigger released an anime adaptation on Netflix. Though the manga finished in 2023, the anime launched in 2024 and quickly became one of the year’s most popular and highly-rated shows. A second season was announced immediately after the first season’s finale in June, but a release date hasn’t been announced yet. While fans are waiting for news about the next season, a new image of the characters has been revealed alongside a special line of merchandise. Charalog, a Japanese online store, shared the details and a beautiful picnic-themed illustration featuring Laios, Marcielle, Chilchuck, Senshi, and Falin enjoying a meal in the forest with food inspired by the manga’s unique monster-cuisine concept – including sandwiches and jars, just like in the source material.

The pre-order period begins on December 8th, 2025, and lasts until January 5th, 2026. You can find all the details, including prices with tax, on the store’s official website. The merchandise is expected to be released around mid-March, though the specific date is still to come. The website currently lists 21 items based on the new theme, including things like jute bags, keychains, acrylic stands, stickers, pictures, and badges. Good news – these products aren’t just for Japan! They’re being shipped internationally, but please note that international orders will include additional shipping costs.

Declious in Dungeon Might Wrap Up The Adventure in Season 2

The first season of the show adapted 52 chapters of the original manga across 24 episodes, finishing the story arc set on the Sixth Floor. With the manga containing a total of 97 chapters, a second season of the same length might cover the rest of the story. The series centers on Laios Touden, a knight and adventurer, and his team as they explore a perilous dungeon, facing strong monsters they can’t directly battle.

Laios’ sister, Falin, used her magic to teleport the group away from danger, but was unfortunately caught by a dragon. Unable to teleport herself, she faced a deadly situation as the others narrowly escaped. Despite being short on money and good gear, Laios vowed to save her before it was too late. Though most of his companions were too scared to help, Marcille Donato and Chilchuck Tims decided to join him, feeling indebted to Falin.

Facing a desperate situation with limited supplies, the group resorts to cooking and eating the monsters they defeat to stay alive. Luckily, Senshi is a skilled cook and can make even the most unusual creatures into tasty meals.
