With few DC Comics games on the horizon, a lot of anticipation is building for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. Warner Bros. Games recently released a new trailer, starting with a well-known nod to Arkham Asylum, to finally reveal the game’s release date.
Get ready for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC starting May 29th, 2026! The standard edition costs $69.99. For $89.99, the Deluxe Edition includes extra content at launch: the Arkham Trilogy Pack, Batman Beyond Pack, and Party Music Pack. This pack adds 21 new character suits, three different Batmobiles, and five items to customize your Batcave. Later, in September 2026, The Mayhem Collection will be released, letting you play as The Joker and Harley Quinn in a unique story mission. This collection also includes seven more suits, another Batmobile, and five additional Batcave customization items.
Okay, so pre-orders are officially open for both versions of the game! If you grab the Deluxe Edition, you’ll get to start playing three days early – that’s a huge bonus! Everyone who pre-orders, no matter which version, will also get the Dark Knight Returns skin, which looks awesome. One quick note: it was supposed to launch on the Switch 2 at the same time, but that release is getting pushed back a bit – we’ll have to wait a little longer for that version.
The latest trailer starts with an introduction styled after the LEGO version of Batman: Arkham Asylum, a visual theme Legacy of the Dark Knight has hinted at since its first trailer. The rest of the video features scenes and characters from different Batman movies and games, including Batman Begins, The Dark Knight Rises, and Batman & Robin.
