Fans are eagerly awaiting the third season of Solo Leveling, but while we wait for Jinwoo Sung’s return to television, he’s also appearing in the video game Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive. The game had a significant presence at this year’s Game Awards, showcasing new content and a dramatically transformed Jinwoo. While already incredibly powerful in the anime, Arise Overdrive promises to take his abilities to the next level.
In the first two seasons of the Solo Leveling anime, Jinwoo has dramatically increased his power. He started as the weakest hunter, struggling even in easy dungeons, but discovered a unique “system” that transformed him into one of the world’s most powerful heroes. Now, he can summon shadow warriors based on the enemies he’s defeated, and seems unstoppable. In Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive, Jinwoo can even summon armor comparable to that of Ingris, a former powerful enemy who is now an ally. You can see his new armored appearance in the trailer from this year’s Game Awards.
Karma is Coming
You can play Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive now, and another action RPG is coming soon that will show a new side of Jinwoo’s story. Solo Leveling: Karma will take place after the original series but before the events of Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, where we meet his son. Given how powerful Jinwoo has become in the anime, it’s exciting to think about just how strong he’ll be in this new game, which explores a period of his life fans haven’t seen yet.
As of today, a third season of the Solo Leveling anime hasn’t been officially announced, but it’s likely the story won’t end after season two. The original Korean webcomic, or manhwa, still has a lot of content that could be adapted into at least a third and possibly a fourth season. As mentioned before, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok is a sequel focusing on Jinwoo’s son, who seems to be developing similar abilities to his father. Given the huge popularity of the Solo Leveling franchise, we expect the sequel will likely be animated as well, adding to the existing animated content like Arise Overdrive and Karma.
