The television series quickly became popular after it first aired in 2024, but it also introduced some significant changes.
As a huge fan, I was a little surprised to hear about some cast changes before Season 3 drops in October. Apparently, Abby McEnany and Eric Graise, who were Velma and Bobby, won’t be returning. But don’t worry, the show’s still incredibly popular and they’ve brought in some new actors to take on those roles. From what I’ve read, we can definitely expect some fresh faces when Season 3 finally arrives!
According to reports, Kathleen Robertson (known for Swimming with Sharks) and Mark Engelhardt (American Horror Story: Asylum) have joined the cast of Tracker in recurring roles. They will appear alongside Justin Hartley and Fiona Rene.
Robertson will play Maxine, a high-powered lawyer who hires Reenie (Fiona Rene) for what she claims is basic assistance with a large lawsuit. However, Maxine might have hidden motives. Meanwhile, Engelhardt will portray Emile Lang, a man who operates by his own strict and calculating principles.
I’m completely hooked on this new CBS series! It’s based on Jeffrey Deaver’s fantastic book, The Never Game, and Justin Hartley is incredible as Colter Shaw. He plays this really intriguing character – a total loner who travels around the country, basically finding things and solving mysteries for people, from everyday citizens to the police. And it’s not just about the cases he solves, he’s also dealing with some complicated family issues, which makes him even more compelling.
The second season of the show ended with a dramatic reveal, forcing Colter to confront difficult truths about his family. He then works with his team to move forward and concentrate on his passion: helping others. The team will also be evolving, with new members Robertson and Engelhardt joining the mix, and the show will continue to explore these dynamics.
Tracker Will Bring Back an Underrated Character
Since the show first aired in 2024, many original cast members have moved on, but a few characters still make occasional appearances. Jensen Ackles, who plays Russell Shaw – Colter’s brother – is one of them. Season 3 will also feature the return of another important character.
The show Tracker is back on Sunday with a new episode called “Good Trouble.” In it, Colter reconnects with Keaton when Keaton asks for help locating a missing person. Their search leads them to a series of deaths and a much larger conspiracy.
Sexton first appeared in Season 2, Episode 6 of Tracker, titled “Trust Fall,” soon after Teddi left the show. He returned for two more episodes, with his last appearance being in Season 2, Episode 9.
Following the episode of “Good Trouble,” the show Tracker will pause for a mid-season break and return on March 1, 2026. While new episodes currently air Sundays at 8 p.m. Eastern, the show will move to a new time slot after the break, airing from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern.
