Two New Resident Evil Remakes Revealed by Insider

So, a reliable source who’s usually spot-on with leaks just dropped some awesome news: apparently, Capcom is working on two new Resident Evil remakes! Honestly, it’s not a huge shock – we’ve already seen some fantastic remakes of older Resident Evil games, and the series is super popular right now, so more remakes were bound to happen. But two at once? That’s exciting! It gives us a lot to look forward to while we’re all waiting for Resident Evil Requiem to finally come out.

On December 13, 2025, Dusk Golem (also known as AestheticGamer) revealed that remakes of Resident Evil – Code: Veronica and Resident Evil 0 are planned for release in 2027 and 2028, respectively. Both games originally launched in 2000 and 2002 on all available consoles at the time, with Zero also being available on PC and newer consoles. It’s been a while since modern console players could enjoy these titles; Zero received an HD remaster in 2016, and Code: Veronica in 2011.

Two Classic Resident Evil Games Are Being Remade

Dusk Golem’s recent post sparked a lot of excitement, with many fans asking for more details, but they haven’t shared anything new. The leak currently covers potential release dates and confirms which games are being remade. As of now, many of Capcom’s developers are likely finalizing Resident Evil Requiem, scheduled for release on February 27, 2026. After that game launches, some of those developers will probably shift to working on the remakes, though it’s unclear exactly who will be on each team. Considering where this information came from, it’s expected that both remakes will be released in 2027 and 2028.

You won’t have to face the nightmare by yourself. In Resident Evil Requiem, arriving February 27, 2026, the stories of FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft and veteran agent Leon S. Kennedy collide in a thrilling and terrifying adventure.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about Capcom’s next Resident Evil remake—details about a remake of Code: Veronica leaked back in October 2025. We’ve also previously seen information regarding a remake of Zero and its potential release date. Code: Veronica continues the story three months after Resident Evil 2, happening at the same time as Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. Given that Code: Veronica is a highly-rated game within the series, it makes sense that Capcom is working on a remake. While @AestheticGamer1 hasn’t had a chance to play any part of either remake, they’ve observed Capcom’s strong confidence in the projects.

Capcom is currently working on a remake of Resident Evil 0, internally called “Chamber” after the character Rebecca Chambers. The only confirmed detail so far is that the remake will feature a completely new voice cast. Like other recent Resident Evil remakes from Capcom, this version will likely expand on the original story with new characters, more developed supporting characters, additional missions, and other content. Given the strong fan base and the game’s reputation as a classic survival horror title, both this remake and the Resident Evil 4 remake are expected to be very successful.
