Nitrome is bringing back some of its most popular older games with a new series called Nitrome Classics. These games have been completely rebuilt for modern devices like the Switch, Steam, and mobile phones, and could be available on even more platforms in the future. The first game, Twin Shot Deluxe, is scheduled to launch on Switch, Steam, iOS, and Android in early 2026, with Silly Sausage and Skywire coming after it.

Nitrome is excited to announce the return of some of its most popular older games! They’re rebuilding these classics from scratch to work on today’s devices, like the Nintendo Switch, Steam, and mobile phones, and may add even more platforms in the future. It’s a chance to relive those fun, simple gaming experiences with a fresh update.

These games aren’t simply brought back to life – they’ve been enhanced with smoother gameplay, full-screen display, and upgraded music. Often, several games from the same series will be bundled together with extra content you won’t find in the original versions.

Graphical Overhaul

Twin Shot Deluxe has been completely updated with new graphics. Every visual element – sprites, animations, characters, backgrounds, and menus – has been carefully redesigned to significantly improve the game’s look.

The game is now much smoother and more visually appealing! We’ve boosted the frame rate from a sluggish 20 to a crisp 60 frames per second, and updated the display to a modern 16:9 widescreen format—giving you 78% more of the action in Twin Shot. Plus, we’ve created a brand new animated intro and remastered the ending illustrations with beautiful pixel art.

New Bosses

The game has received a major update, not just with new characters and enemies! You’ll now face Colossus – a huge, powerful boss you can actually climb. Plus, a brand new Atlantis theme has been added, complete with 50 stages filled with unique enemies and gameplay features.

Play with up to four friends and family members! This version supports both gamepads and keyboards, making it easy for everyone to join in.

Challenge your archery abilities with more than 200 completely new levels.

Deluxe features completely updated controls that offer precise handling, quick stops, variable jump heights, and even that classic ‘coyote time’ – all while retaining the familiar feel you love!

Cheats for All

Cheats and Treats are BACK! Unlock a plethora of abilities and options for enhanced replay.

Use your earned rewards to customize your character with cool skins, enjoy silly game modes like Tag and Fart Mode, upgrade your weapons and health, listen to music, and even make your character incredibly giant! There’s tons to unlock and have fun with.

I’m so excited because the music is going to sound amazing – totally clear and uncompressed! And get this – the original composer, Dave Cowen, created some brand new tracks just for this! I can’t wait to listen and rediscover all those classic tunes.

Claim Your Crown

Okay, so they just added HATS to the game, and they’re awesome! You can battle it out with friends or go solo to become the ultimate champion. But these aren’t just for looks – each hat actually gives you a special boost. Forget the usual crown, because these new headpieces come with crazy powers. Like, I found one called the Twisted Hat that lets me shoot backwards! There’s also the Old Boot which lets me bounce off enemies’ heads, and the Medusa Headdress? That turns me to stone! Seriously, they change up how you play, and they’re hilarious.

Turn up the heat with Tag mode! Point an arrow at other players to ‘tag’ them, and then grab the special hat – it’s a high-stakes game of chase, just like Angel Cat and Mouse!
