Kusanagi Mizuho’s historical fantasy manga, Yona of the Dawn, first appeared in Hana to Yume magazine in 2009 and quickly gained a devoted following thanks to its captivating story and beautiful artwork. An anime adaptation by Studio Pierrot in 2014 boosted the series’ popularity even further, building a large international fanbase despite only having one season that concluded in 2015. For over ten years, fans have eagerly anticipated a continuation of the anime, even as the manga neared its ending. After a decade with no updates, the future of the anime seemed uncertain, but the manga magazine recently announced that a sequel is now in production.
