Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 topped the US sales charts in November 2025 — but it’s down compared to Black Ops 6

Activision’s latest Call of Duty game, Black Ops 7, was the best-selling game in the U.S. for November, according to industry analyst Mat Piscatella from Circana. This marks the 18th consecutive year a Call of Duty title has topped the sales charts in its launch month.

However, Black Ops 7 sales were down compared to the previous year’s release, and it currently ranks as the 7th best-selling game of 2025. Interestingly, this is the second year in a row that a new Call of Duty game has been available on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass from launch, and subscription spending is up 16% compared to last year.

Electronic Arts’ Battlefield 6 came in second place for November and remains the best-selling game of the year overall.

Overall video game spending in November reached $5.8 billion, a 4% decrease from the previous year, and hardware sales also declined.

Circana tracks sales based on revenue, not the number of copies sold. It’s worth noting that not all publishers share their digital sales data; for example, Ubisoft doesn’t share digital data, and Larian Studios shares no data at all.

Where will Call of Duty be as the year closes?

I’m very eager to see the latest sales figures from Piscatella, and to learn how well Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 did as 2025 ended.

Activision recently announced that they won’t be releasing new Black Ops and Modern Warfare games in consecutive years anymore.
