Marvel fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming year! In addition to new Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday movies, exciting content is also coming to Disney+. First up is the series Wonder Man, premiering on January 27, 2026. This show will introduce (or re-introduce) a somewhat lesser-known Marvel hero, and it’s not the only new Wonder Man content on the way – he’s also getting a brand-new comic book series!
Marvel revealed plans for a new five-part Wonder Man comic series launching in March 2026. Written by Gerry Duggan and illustrated by Mark Buckingham, the story follows Simon Williams, also known as Wonder Man, as he returns to Hollywood and attempts to maintain order using his abilities. However, he soon becomes entangled in a dangerous mystery connected to an old friend, putting him at odds with both the major movie studios and the hero Patsy Walker, a.k.a. Hellcat, potentially jeopardizing his career.
The Wonder Man Comic May Not Be Connected to the MCU But It Still Sounds Fun

It’s cool that this new Wonder Man comic is coming out around the time Simon Williams is joining the MCU, but honestly, don’t go expecting a direct tie-in. Still, it sounds like it’s going to be a really fun ride for a character I’ve always loved. Wonder Man’s been around since 1964 – he actually started as a villain in The Avengers #9! – and the writer, Duggan, is clearly thrilled to be working on it. He says this series is something special, and as a fan, that gets me excited.
I’ve always loved Wonder Man, and I’m a big fan of Mark Buckingham’s work too,” said writer Gerry Duggan. “Working with a true talent and a genuinely good person has been amazing. This story follows Simon Williams as he pursues his Hollywood dreams, and explores the challenges facing the entertainment industry and his two families – the one he chose and the one he was born into. We’re really excited about this new direction for Wonder Man, and we think it’s going to be something special.
Working on the new Wonder Man comic series and collaborating with writer Gerry Duggan has been fantastic, according to Buckingham. Simon, the character, is portrayed as a well-meaning person who sometimes makes poor decisions. He’s dedicated to his loved ones, though it often comes at a cost to himself, particularly in his relationship with Randolph Chancellor.
I just got a sneak peek at Simon Williams’ new book, and let me tell you, it’s a blast! The author really wanted a specific visual style to capture that classic Hollywood vibe as Simon revisits his life in LA, and it totally works. Expect a fast-paced story with plenty of action, adventure, a touch of romance, and a whole lot of humor. Seriously, I was laughing out loud!
As a huge Marvel fan, I’m really excited about the new Wonder Man series! From what Marvel’s said, it’s going to be a wild ride following Simon Williams – he’s had a complicated past, going from a villain manipulated by the Enchantress to a full-fledged Avenger. It sounds like the show will explore how even when things get tough, Simon always tries to do the right thing. And it looks like his past is about to come back and haunt him, with the arrival of his old cellmate, Randolph Chancellor! They’re describing it as a real love letter to L.A. and the entire history of the Wonder Man character, which sounds amazing!
Wonder Man #1 goes on sale March 18, 2026.
