Guy Ritchie is filming the second season of MobLand, bringing back Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren to reprise their roles as the Harrigan villains.
On-set photos taken in London reveal Helen Mirren as Maeve Harrigan, a cunning and powerful matriarch of a criminal family, sporting a fur and leather outfit for her role in MobLand. Pierce Brosnan, who plays the mob boss Conrad, is also seen in stylish attire. You can view the photos on The Daily Mail’s website.
Ritchie, an executive producer and director on MobLand, also makes an appearance, walking with Brosnan and seemingly discussing the scene they’re shooting.
In one scene, Mirren walks down a sidewalk carrying a large leather bag. Another shot shows her looking intently at a key fob as she aims it.
Another photo shows Helen Mirren hugging her co-star Anson Boon, who plays Eddie, the son of Conrad and Maeve. They’re also pictured looking through a café window, seemingly filming a scene where Eddie gives Maeve a bag.
No one knows what’s in the bag, as the details for the second season of MobLand are being kept secret.
More photos from the collection reveal Helen Mirren relaxing between takes, wearing a quilted vest over her fur and leopard-print outfit. One picture shows her stepping out of a car with a small coffee cup in her hand.
The first season of MobLand premiered on Paramount+ in 2025 and received positive reviews, earning a 76% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Reviewers enjoyed the acting, especially from Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren, as well as the supporting cast including Tom Hardy and Paddy Considine. While the storyline wasn’t groundbreaking, the show’s complex plot kept viewers entertained.
Critics said the movie relied too much on predictable clichés commonly found in crime dramas.
ScreenRant’s review of the final episode of MobLand season 1 strongly criticizes the entire season. They describe the show as “boring” and point out that the characters are indistinguishable and lack meaningful development.
According to a review, the show MobLand emphasizes a sense of meaninglessness, and this feeling is particularly strong in the final episode.
Following a strong debut season that broke viewership records with 2.2 million viewers worldwide, Paramount+ has renewed MobLand for a second season.
Along with the cast members returning from MobLand season 1, Johnny Flynn and Ophelia Lovibond will join as main actors in season 2.
