Season 5 of Emily in Paris is here, bringing more drama and excitement as Emily continues her adventures. This time, she travels through Paris, Rome, and Venice, and encounters a new group of characters.
Camille Razat, who played Camille in the show, isn’t appearing this season. Her character was a key part of the romantic storyline involving Emily, her ex-boyfriend Gabriel, and herself.
When she kept the truth hidden, their relationship fell apart, and Camille left Paris to find new opportunities and love beyond her familiar life.
Regarding Camille’s departure, Starr explained that while her story arc was great, it felt naturally concluded after season four, allowing the show to explore new possibilities.

After leaving Paris, and with Emily spending much of the season in Rome and Venice, the show’s focus shifted. The central question of whether Emily and Gabriel would get together became less prominent.
In an interview with Variety, actor Gabriel Bravo said he aimed to recapture the joyful side of his character after a stretch of sadness focused on his unrequited feelings for Emily.
Starr believed that Emily and Gabriel being far apart this season allowed them both the space to explore new interests and relationships, and ultimately move on from their romantic connection.
Star believes Gabriel’s presence in season five brought back some of the show’s enjoyable energy. They felt it was a good balance – Gabriel was still involved, but the season didn’t center around their relationship.
“I think if we have a season 6, it’ll be a great storyline to continue with this.”
We haven’t officially heard about a new season yet, but an announcement is likely coming soon. A new season is typically released each year.
Fortunately, Star is already full of ideas for what’s next on the show and intentionally ended season 5 in a way that allows for many different storylines to unfold.
We’re currently figuring out what we want to do for season six, but the way the last episode ended suggests a lot of exciting directions we could take the show. I believe there are truly endless possibilities.
The season ends with many storylines unfinished, ongoing conflicts between characters, and everyone facing difficult choices. We’ve left audiences with a lot to think about and anticipate for the future.
Ashley Park and Lily Collins are confirmed to return for another season and already have some exciting locations planned.
Collins says they’ve experienced so much that they’re no longer surprised by anything. Darren consistently introduces fresh and daring ideas.
The truth is, we really don’t know what will happen. We can try to imagine the best outcome, but we’re both cautiously optimistic and hoping not to be disappointed.
Park’s one request? “As long as it’s not Emily in space right now, we’re good with wherever.”
