From the beginning, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has steadily made Boruto more powerful, and the newest chapter continues that trend, though with a significant drawback. After the time skip, Boruto has become one of the strongest ninja in the entire Naruto series, even exceeding his father’s power after Naruto returned from his own time skip. He’s mastered his grandfather’s Flying Raijin technique, trained extensively with Sasuke, and created his own powerful version of the Rasengan, called Uzuhiko, which might be the strongest one we’ve ever seen. But fans knew these improvements wouldn’t stop there, considering Boruto’s opponents are much stronger than any Naruto ever faced.
The story of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is moving forward by focusing on Boruto’s growing power. It’s now clear that he’ll be drawing strength from Momoshiki Otsutsuki, the powerful being sealed inside him – a common theme in action-packed manga like this. Since Momoshiki can’t directly control Boruto’s body anymore, Boruto is trying to get him to willingly share his abilities. The recent chapter shows Boruto making a deal with Momoshiki to access this power, but the details of that deal are quite troubling.
Boruto Finally Taps Into Momoshiki’s Power, But at a Heavy Cost

Chapter 29 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, titled “Pest Control,” begins with Boruto promising Momoshiki he’ll let him take over his body if they can defeat Jura. Momoshiki, currently trapped and powerless inside Boruto, accepts, reasoning that true freedom requires Boruto’s willing surrender. Boruto then warns Momoshiki that Kawaki will likely come after him even after Jura and the Divine Trees are gone, but Momoshiki insists he can defeat Kawaki immediately. The chapter also shows Boruto successfully using the power of Karma – and even Momoshiki’s Byakugan – during his fight with Mamushi, all while remaining in control.
Boruto knows defeating the Divine Trees will be a tough battle, so he’s relying on untapped strength to face his enemies. He’s also worried that Momoshiki might take complete control of his body later on. But considering Boruto’s thoughtful plans and with Kashin Koji helping him, it seems he’s anticipated a positive outcome from taking this risk.
Boruto might be able to defeat Jura and the Divine Trees with help from Momoshiki, but this could lead to Momoshiki taking over, potentially with his own agenda involving Kawaki. This brings the initial fight between Boruto and Kawaki back into question – it’s possible Kawaki was actually battling Momoshiki all along. While Boruto’s new abilities are powerful, they also hint at continuing and dangerous problems for the future of the ninja world.
