However, the editors, Brittany Holzherr and Jamie S. Rich, persuaded King to make Supergirl the strong, determined protagonist – similar to the character Rooster Cogburn from the novel True Grit. This meant Lobo, known as the galaxy’s best bounty hunter, was left out of the comic.
