Arcane's Studio Really Wants to Make a Vagabond Anime

As a long-time anime fan and avid gamer, I’ve seen my fair share of studios trying to make their mark in the industry. But when it comes to Fortiche, I’m genuinely excited about their potential to adapt the classic manga “Vagabond.” Having been captivated by their stunning animation in “Arcane,” I have no doubt that Fortiche would do justice to Takehiko Inoue’s masterpiece.

The animation industry is a challenging field to succeed in, but Fortiche’s team has made impressive strides with a strong fanbase. Founded in 2009, this French studio has gained recognition with recent productions like “Arcane.” Now, the heads of Fortiche are aiming to conquer yet another project named “Vagabond.”

Sure thing!

Lately, during an interview with Crunchyroll, Pascal Charrue from Fortiche Studios revealed our long-held aspiration to work on “Vagabond.” When asked about the dream project for our studio, Pascal mentioned this title without hesitation.

I’ve pondered over this query, and the title that immediately pops into my gamer mind is “Vagabond” by Takehiko Inoue.

“Naoki Urasawa’s masterpiece is filled with intricate depth and breathtaking artwork that would captivate audiences in an animated adaptation. Despite previous adaptations, his works continue to inspire us greatly.”

If you haven’t heard of “Vagabond” before, this manga series was first published by Inoue at Kodansha back in 1998. It’s based on the historical figure Musashi Miyamoto, a renowned swordsman from ancient Japan. With over 35 volumes and intricate art, “Vagabond” is considered one of manga’s most epic stories. Regrettably, there hasn’t been an anime adaptation yet. However, Fortiche is eager to change that and could potentially contact Inoue’s team once the second season of “Arcane” has been released.

At this pivotal moment in Musashi’s life, an unconventional monk and a childhood friend provided him with guidance.
