Patapon 1+2 Replay Gets Boss Rush Challenge in Free Game Update, Available Today on PS5

Bandai Namco announced that the major update for Patapon 1+2 Replay will include a new Boss Rush Challenge.

Okay, so this mode lets you jump in using your existing game progress. Basically, you build your best team from all the characters you’ve unlocked, and then you face off against bosses – but the order they appear in is totally random! It’s a fun way to test how well-rounded your squad really is.

If you can’t beat the Boss Rush Challenge, don’t worry! You can improve your army in the regular game and try again when you’re more powerful.

This mission is designed to be incredibly challenging, making it a fitting final test for players who have reached the end of the game. It’s likely to appeal to dedicated fans.

I’m so excited! The remastered versions of Patapon 1 and 2 – those awesome rhythm strategy games on PlayStation – are getting some brand new content! As a big fan, this is fantastic news!

The publisher has teased a new game mode coming in a game update, slated for 22nd December 2025:

It’s unusual for a remastered game to receive free downloadable content, so it’s exciting that the original Patapon games are getting brand new content added to them.
